Simply put, Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries is an awesome game. It isn't groundbreaking with the graphics, weapons, or how the overall feel of the Mech goes, but that still doens't make it a bad game. For any of you who have played any Mechwarrior 4 games, or even Mechwarrior 3 for that matter, should have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this mercenary game and should have no trouble quickly feeling comfortable as a pilot of a 100 ton Diashi mech.

So what separates this game from the others? It's rather simple. Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries offers that little extra that you don't get with the other Mechwarrior games (the only one that can actually throw a stone in this one's direction is Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries, but that's another story). For instance, you can choose which missions you want to do to a certain extent. Also, you have to be able to manage your money in a wise way. The budgeting system in this game is really nice in the beginning and makes you think of what you should purchase and/or sell in order to not lose all of your money.

Another very nice feature of this game is that it allows you to play in a free for all tournament in all Mech classes (Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault). If you are successful in all classes, you then have the opportunity to compete in the grand championship, which places you and fifteen other Mechwarriors in a hectic battle to be the last one standing.

I have always been a fan of the Mechwarrior series, but I feel that this game is one of the best out there right now. So go out and buy it!
