Im just curious -- is there anyway to change the master.day file manually in order to make your character be able to level up farther then the max level of 99?

The farthest I have ever gotten was to level 42 and then my character got hit with the 13 Year Time limit and basically thats how far the game lets you play.

Where can i download this "Gernerous mod" can you please post a link yo it. Could you also briefly tell me the procedure to downloading/installing it to the fallout 2 folder.

Since this is a mod what else does it affect? -- Does this mod allow your character to level up farther or does it just hack your character to level 100+?

You cant lvl more then 99.
99 is the limit.
And even hack it so ther number will be 100\100+
whats the point?????????
Its useless no sane person will even play till lvl 50 coz the game ends far before that lvl.

Well If the timelimit ever gets removed by some miricle. I am going to level up to 99. Without the fallout 2 hintbook (cause thats just no fun at all).

BTW: The first person to figure out how to expand/remove the timelimit gets $20.00 bucks from me!! Probably through paypal cause its the only "secure" way (for me) to send money

Oh and the answer to your question is: Yes

...I am Insane.... but its all good

Yeah with the cheat book its easy but it would be madness to try otherwise...you would get so bored of playing the game it wouldnt be funny...

Yes, and as I said before, from now on keep new posts on the new forums: http://www.stgfc.com/phpBB2/

Bleh, screw it, I'm just gonna disable new posts around here. It's harsh, but it'll finally let these forums die and the move take place.

Just in case you didnt know - Once your character reaches level 40 -- almost all of the random encounters are altered.

When i say altered i mean the encounter becomes very very hard. Almost everyone you meet is wearing power armor and has high tech weaponary and im not just taking about the enclave patrol - im taking about a new leage of people -- they are usually around 4-5 guys and they are all wearing power armor mk1 but they are much much tougher then the enclave patrol near Navvarow.

That is why I want to increase the time-limit becasue i want to see how tough the game gets as you level up even higher. But i can only make it to level 42 befor my game ends from the timelimit.

Important BTW: these encounters do not work for some reason when you gain exp from the Fallout 2 hintbook or by using the cpu in valut city to gain exp. You have to lv up the nateral way in order to encounter them. yes - it takes a long time to level up but there are MANY things to do after you beat the game which only the hard-core fans know about.

Here is an example: After you beat the game your character has an oppurtunaty to gain 5 new unique perks. Im not even going to say what they are or where to find them casue it took me like a month to figure them out. but once you get them your char becomes amazing!

Aside from just gaining perks you can also take on fun jobs: like gaurding the escorts (from which you can get amazing stuff.

There are so many other things that are added to the game after you beat horrigan that it is like playing the game all over again.

Tommyk I am not sure what you mean.

Yes i came here to get help - in fact this forum is my last hope simply becasue there is nowhere else for me to contact becasue fallout 2 is generally an old game.

I dont understand what you mean when you say "editor" (can you explain please) and second the perks which I speak of are very hard to aquire but they are 100% legit (not hacks or exploits)

I dont generally like to give away secrets becasue that is usually the only bit of leverage a person has if they were to say that there character is superior to another persons char. - get it

Anyways if you guys help me w/that stupid timelimit - hell yes il be glad to tell you guys everything you would like to know.

oh yeah and im also giving the first person to figure it out $20.00 becasue i will be so very happy!

BTW Tommyk - I had ask you several questions on the top of this thread but you never answered
them

oh hehe, sorry man, Go to the download section and download Generous klint mod, Also download FAME or ModRunner (FAME doesnt work on winxp) Just extract fame anywhere you want, But if u use ModRunner then extract it to ur fallout 2 directory, both programs use PATCH000.dat so you dont loose the 1.02patch umm.. thats about it..oh and generous klint mod doesnt make u over lvl 99 but Klint (the one who guards the trail outside the temple) is very generous, he can give u money/armor/weapons/experience/even Frank Horrigans armor which is kinda cool /and the "black hole" the black hole weights -9999 so you can carry endless of stuff , But! i noticed when ur in NCR and gonna fight Lenny then the Black Hole will be removed and well you cant do shit so you gotta put all ur stuff in the ring until you can move/fight.. But after u killed him you get the black hole back but the stuff u put on the ground is gone cause u cant pick it up.. So dont fight lenny,, Guess ive answered everything, sorry for missing this question.. Umm ... hope i answered it all for u.. /tommyk aka Detech.

Woah thanks for your quick reply! MAN that was freakin fast lol

I have another question casue im kinda new here

Do mods (like the one Scotty is talking about making) usually have bugs in them? And what aspects in the game do mods change? - like weapon damage or something?

Mods can change everything, weapons/quests/dialogues/etc.etc, i guess it could have bugs.. Mods are just add-ons to fallout, for example, one mod changes the car color to black or rusty, one mod changes the sawed-off shotgun to a "doordestroyer" 100-150 dmg , its powerful as hell funny as hell etc.etc.. Umm.. Hope this was the answer u where looking for.. Ask more and ill see if i can help

Well i love the game just the way it is so im afraid if i download a mod it might set the game off balance (like you said a shotgun could do 150 damage or something) i think that would be a bad thing (kind of funny though) I really hope that scotty the great pulls through and cracks that dang timelimit!

Hey thanks alot Tommyk you have been very helpful.

Mod suggestion: I always thought it would be cool if after you beat the game you would have the option of creating another character but this time your new character would now be allowed and extra Skill point as reward for beating the game or something like that

Are mods hard to make? How long do they take usually?

Good idea for a mod , But there are more "legal" mods.. i saw one that makes the game more "real" and harder.. guns weight more etc.etc.. to give it that "hardcore"-feeling.. ive never created a mod so i dont know.. sorry but cant help you on that question... yet..

dream-weaver, by editor i meant a character editor, which can give you all the perks, stat points hp skills, everything you want. this sounds like a commercial so therefore, end of reply.

yeah i dont use editors either, if im not bored. then i start a char with 999 melee damage and travel to the military base. then i watch the mutants fly around for half an hour or so. its really fun, you should test it

Tommyk What do you mean? -- There is only one universal in-game time limit.

The maximum duration you can play is 13 years.

There are no other time limits in Fallout 2
