There was a huge pillar in the center of the room. It was 10 feet tall and at the top there was a large seat. on the seat there was a man. he was venerable, about 70 years of age, with a large white beard and a formidable girth. He looked like Santa, without the red clothes. He had a gleam of wisdom in his eyes. He looked down at them from his perch with a look of expressed interest. The shock Tony was feeling left him as the man began to speak.
"You are quite interesting Tony. I am the Elder of this vault. I run everything around you. If you would be so kind as to tell the tale to me of how you got here and what adventures you have had so far. Tony found a seat for himself and his girlfriend. His cousin went and found a larger chair due to his larger size. At 6'4", this was not easy.
As soon as Tony began to relate his tale it began. The end of the world as they knew it. Judgment Day... Suddenly there was a terrible shake that knocked everyone but the elder down to the ground. Tony knew with a certain horror that the vault had been struck. He began to run toward the elevator. His friends, they were in danger. Tony saw that his cousin was following. This day was shaping up pretty badly.
Tony and his cousin rushed to the elevator. They waited for the doors to open. 15 seconds later they saw the doors open with painstaking slowness as 7 people piled out. The guard was among them. There was also several other people from the vault and Amber's family. They were safe, Tony saw with great relief
The Guard from the first floor spoke. "Most of your friends are still up there. We started moving them down when it struck. I don’t know how they are. We were in the elevator before it happened."
Tony thanked the guard hurriedly and got in the elevator. The elevator slowly pulled up as Tony watched the tense expression on his cousin's face. They finally reached the top when the elevator's interior doors began to open. Tony looked with horror at the prospect that faced them.
