Best paladin skills are, in my opinion, charge and zeal. Zeal is a much faster killer, but charge does a LOT more damage. If you choose zeal as your primary attack. As for auras, the best one would be fanaticism, so max it out. Put a point in salvation as well. You should also put some points into holy freeze and conviction. It's best to have three different paladins in the party, each with one of those auras maxed out, but...heh.-------------------- Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love.

Jim, if you are just starting out playing d2, then I would suggest a barbarian or a paladin. Go for something that is melee. If you haven't just started, then it would be a little easier to understand how to make the perfect combinations for a sorc. So, to answer your question, no I don't think that they are a good character to start out with. With barbs and pallys, all you have to do is make them strong, with a sorc you have to make it almost perfect for it to be a good sorc. By perfect I mean, having a lot of life, having the best mana replenishing items, having good charms, stuff like that.
