Max Zeal and Fanactism (however you spell it)

Most important, you have to get the weapon, Shaeffer's Legendary Mallet.

Not sure, I always went with zeal and fanaticism myself. Those seem to be the best.

BTW, Gauss, do you have a copy of LOD yet so you can play on BNE?

Eh, don't know. That's up to either Ratty or Locke (whenever he returns) to decide, really.

Don't worry, you are not officially a member yet, so all those deadlines don't apply to you. When you get it, you will be added to the memberlist.

Now I undestand that holy shield adds defense and block rate.
But why invest points in it if i can just add enough dextirity(140 if im not wrong)so my block rate will be maxed(75%) anyway?
I dont think the defense bonus worth the points.

Cmmon ppl give me a hand here!!

Not sure, but I would put a couple points into HS, and then put a lot into dexterity.

But why put points ib HS if the dextirity is enough 4 75%?

It helps out. What would you do if you didn't get the 75% that you were supposed to have from dext? You would be screwed. So to be on the safe side, I'd put 2-5 points into HS.

Hey,

Ratty said that Barbarian and Paladin characters a good to start with i'm n00by too and I can see they are much easier then others. I'm currently working on a Barbarian and I allready made 3 mistakes on which I had to restart. So I guess you better talk to Ratty about this....

Best paladin skills are, in my opinion, charge and zeal. Zeal is a much faster killer, but charge does a LOT more damage. If you choose zeal as your primary attack. As for auras, the best one would be fanaticism, so max it out. Put a point in salvation as well. You should also put some points into holy freeze and conviction. It's best to have three different paladins in the party, each with one of those auras maxed out, but...heh.

Hey jim its ok im just kidding.
As 4 the auras Ratty'i intend 2 make a paladin with charge+Holy Freeze.
And i m not sure what 2 pick more:
Fanaticism(is charge affected by it?,i mean in attack speed).
Or should I pick Concentration, coz the damage is high 2,and its really irritating to b stopped in the middle of a charge!

Jim, if you are just starting out playing d2, then I would suggest a barbarian or a paladin. Go for something that is melee. If you haven't just started, then it would be a little easier to understand how to make the perfect combinations for a sorc. So, to answer your question, no I don't think that they are a good character to start out with. With barbs and pallys, all you have to do is make them strong, with a sorc you have to make it almost perfect for it to be a good sorc. By perfect I mean, having a lot of life, having the best mana replenishing items, having good charms, stuff like that.

Gauss, I don't recommend picking concentration, because it is inferior to fanaticism. And yes, fanaticism affects both charge and zeal.
